The "Open Field" Sound Design

The soundscape is built in F Major at 432 Hz — a warm, open key with no inherent tension or resolution. A richly textured pad evolves via a slow volume LFO at 0.17 Hz — one gentle swell every six seconds, loosely mirroring natural breathing rhythm. Harmonic movement is minimal — two chords switching every 12 bars with a slow crossfade.

The Science: Embedded Alpha Binaural Entrainment

Beneath the pad, an alpha binaural layer runs throughout — left channel at 432 Hz, right channel at 442 Hz. The brain perceives the 10 Hz difference and entrains toward it, placing it in the alpha brainwave range associated with relaxed alertness and open creative awareness. Note: binaural entrainment requires headphones for the full effect.
